Wellard approached us to refresh their brand as the previous branding had begun to feel disconnected to the studio’s personality, and its projects and aspirations.
We developed an elegant and modern identity based around a flexible design system with typography as a focal point to speak to the studio’s measured approach. The customised logo is based on GT America Extended Medium, creating a sense of strength mixed with adaptability. Supportive typography in Optimo’s Practise typeface paired with Grilli Type’s GT America, creates a composed typographic palette. The italicised version of Practice is used for subtle text highlights.
Working with the team we identified the brand idea ‘Follow your dreams’. This became visualised through a graphic animation that plays to the idea of capturing glimpses of the project as it develops and reveals itself.
This was supported by an approachable and authentic tone of voice, crafted by writers, Writing for Design and Anna May.
We designed and built the Wellard website to reflect Wellard’s strong design outcomes and clear and considered process. The result is a website that delights, inspires and evolves
